Iron-Deficiency Anaemia: A TCM Approach to Restore Energy

Iron-Deficiency Anaemia: ST36, BL17, SP6, BL20, CV12

Iron deficiency, Fatigue, Pale tongue, Weak pulse

This recipe uses ST36 (Zusanli) to tonify Qi and blood, BL17 (Geshu) to nourish blood, SP6 (Sanyinjiao) to strengthen spleen and blood production, BL20 (Pishu) to support spleen function, and CV12 (Zhongwan) to harmonize stomach and digestion. It addresses iron-deficiency anaemia by promoting blood formation. Contraindications: Avoid SP6 in pregnancy; use caution with BL20 in skin conditions.

Focus now on the acupuncture points that support your body in overcoming iron-deficiency and fatigue.

Locate ST36, known as Zusanli, situated about four fingerbreadths below the kneecap, along the outer edge of the shinbone. This point strengthens your energy and blood, boosting your vitality. Visualize warmth radiating from this point as it invigorates your entire being.

Next, shift your awareness to BL17, or Geshu, located on your back, between the shoulder blades, at the level of the lower back ribs. This point nourishes your blood. Imagine a gentle, nurturing light enveloping this area, replenishing your body's vitality.

Now, bring your attention to SP6, called Sanyinjiao, found on the inner side of your lower leg, about four fingerbreadths above the ankle bone. This point enhances the spleen's ability to produce blood, providing a foundation for your energy. Visualize a soothing energy flowing from this point, harmonizing your body's resources.

Transition to BL20, known as Pishu, on your back, just below the lower ribs, where it supports the spleen's function. Picture a warm, comforting energy at this location, enhancing your digestive health and reinforcing your strength.

Finally, focus on CV12, or Zhongwan, located in the center of your abdomen, just above the navel. This point harmonizes the stomach and digestion, promoting overall well-being. Envision a calm, radiant energy spreading from this point, balancing your digestive system and allowing nourishment to flow freely through your body.

As you visualize these points, breathe deeply. Inhale positivity and strength, exhale fatigue and weakness. Allow the energy from these points to merge, creating a symphony of nourishment throughout your body. Feel the warmth and healing enveloping you, restoring balance and vitality.

With each breath, affirm your body's ability to produce energy and blood. Embrace the sensation of health and vitality returning, as you nurture yourself naturally and holistically. Let this energy flow, empowering you to reach a state of perfect balance and harmony.
