Lumbago Relief: Natural Treatment for Lower Back Pain

This recipe uses BL23 to strengthen kidneys, GV4 to tonify Yang, BL40 to relieve pain, ST36 to boost Qi, and GB30 (Huantiao) for hip. It reduces lumbago. Contraindications: Use caution with GV4 in pregnancy.

Focus on the warmth and energy flowing through your lower back as you visualize the key acupuncture points associated with relieving lumbago. Begin with BL23, located on your lower back, near the spine, at the level of your waist. This point strengthens the kidneys, which support your vitality and energy. Imagine a warm glow radiating from this point, nourishing your lower back and filling it with strength. Next, bring your attention to GV4, situated along the spine, just above the lower back. Visualize this point as a source of Yang energy, bringing warmth and vitality to your entire body. Feel this energy rising, invigorating your spirit and dispelling any coldness or discomfort. Now, shift your focus to BL40, located behind your knee in the center of the crease. This point is essential for relieving pain. Picture a soothing wave washing over this area, releasing tension and discomfort, allowing your muscles to relax deeply. Move your awareness to ST36, found just below the knee, about four finger widths down and one finger width to the outside of the shinbone. This point boosts your Qi, your life force. Visualize a bright light at ST36, filling your entire body with energy, vitality, and resilience. Finally, concentrate on GB30, known as Huantiao, located in the hip area, about one-third of the way down from the top of the hip bone to the top of the thigh. This point supports hip mobility and alleviates pain. Imagine a gentle stretching sensation, releasing any tightness and allowing fluid movement in your hips and lower back. As you visualize these points, breathe deeply, allowing the energy from each location to flow harmoniously through your body. Feel the interconnectedness of these energies working together to restore balance. With each inhalation, draw in strength and warmth, and with each exhalation, release tension and discomfort. Allow your body to become a vessel of healing, with each point contributing to a state of ease and comfort in your lower back. Continue to breathe deeply, embracing the sensations of relief and balance, as your body naturally aligns and heals.
