Sleep-Maintenance Insomnia: A Recipe for Restful Nights

This recipe uses HT7 to calm heart, PC6 to regulate emotions, KI3 to tonify kidneys, SP6 to nourish Yin, and CV15 (Jiuwei) to calm emotions. It supports sleep maintenance. Contraindications: Avoid SP6 in pregnancy.

Focus your awareness on the acupuncture points that will guide you toward restful sleep and emotional balance.First, locate HT7, found at the wrist crease, on the side of the pinky finger. This point calms the heart and is essential for soothing anxiety, allowing your mind to find peace.
Next, shift to PC6, positioned about two fingerbreadths above the wrist on the inner arm. This point helps regulate emotions, inviting warmth and calmness to wash over your heart.
Now, bring your attention to KI3, situated on the inside of the ankle, in the depression between the ankle bone and the Achilles tendon. This point nourishes the kidneys, which are integral to your overall vitality and energy, supporting your ability to maintain deep sleep.
Then, move to SP6, located just above the inner ankle bone, on the back of the tibia. This point nourishes Yin and encourages relaxation. Remember, avoid this point if you are pregnant.
Finally, visualize CV15, known as Jiuwei, found on the center of your abdomen, just above the belly button. This point calms emotions and helps center your spirit, creating a safe space for restful sleep.
As you visualize these points, imagine a warm, soothing light enveloping them, each point radiating its healing energy. Allow this light to flow through your body, harmonizing your heart, emotions, kidneys, and spirit.
Breathe deeply, feeling the gentle rise and fall of your abdomen. With each exhale, release any tension or worries that may be keeping you awake. Let the calming energy from these points fill you, nurturing your body and mind.
Allow the sensation of tranquility to deepen, anchoring you in the present moment. Embrace the stillness, knowing that you are supported by these powerful energies. Picture yourself resting peacefully, free from the disturbances that interrupt your sleep, and invite a sense of security and calm into your heart.
Continue to breathe deeply, letting each breath take you further into a state of relaxation, where sleep comes easily and naturally, and your body is restored. Trust in this process, and allow the balance to settle within you.
