Anterior Pituitary: Hormone-Producing Gland

When functioning properly, it secretes hormones such as growth hormone (GH), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), prolactin, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH). These hormones regulate growth, metabolism, stress response, and reproductive processes. Malfunctioning of the anterior pituitary can lead to conditions like growth disorders, hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency, infertility, and prolactinomas.
